all sizes and technologies operated by regulated utilities, private power companies and commercial/industrial auto-producers in every country in the world, including
units that are currently installed, projected, retired or cancelled.
The WEPP data base is shipped in dbf format. The files can be opened directly in Excel or imported into Access or other data base management software. As the size
of the entire file (allunits.dbf) exceeds the record limit in older versions of Excel, the same data are also available separately by geographic area in four files that are
identical in structure: Asia.dbf, Europe.dbf, NAmerica.dbf, and Other.dbf.

FILE LAYOUT AND FIELD DESCRIPTIONS

Name of generating unit. If unit-specific data are available, each set at a site has its own record. Name of power plant site. Plant name may have utility acronym or other descriptor to make it unique. Operator or primary owner of generating unit. Gross generating capacity of unit. (MWe) Current unit status: PLN=planned, CON=under construction, DEF=deferred pre-construction, DEL=delayed after construction start, DAC=deactivated/moth-balled, RET=retired, CAN=cancelled. UNK=unknown. Year unit entered or is scheduled to enter commercial operation. Blank or zero indicates date is unknown. Technology type of unit: GT=gas turbine, HY=hydro, IC=diesel engine, ST=steam turbine. See list of abbreviations. Primary fuel: COAL, GAS, GEO, OIL, WAT, WIND, UR, etc. UNK=unknown. See list of abbreviations. FUELTYPE
Fossil fuel types and other descriptors. Alternate fuel: COAL, GAS, OIL, etc. May be NONE. . Steam supply system (boiler or reactor) manufacturer, N/A for other technologies. BOILTYPE
Turbine manufacturer or IC engine manufacturer. TURBTYPE
For steam (ST) turbines, TC or CC and may have flows and last-stage blade length, otherwise model numbers. 15 GENMFR
16 GENTYPE Generator (alternator) type. Includes voltage and cooling, or model numbers.
Design maximum steam flow at the turbine. (kg/second) (USA: 1000 lbs/hr) Steam pressure at the turbine. (bar) (USA: PSI) Steam type. SUPER(critical) or SUBCR(itical). May be N/A. Steam temperature at the turbine. (degrees C) (USA: degrees F) First reheat temperature, if applicable. (degrees C) (USA: degrees F) Second reheat temperature, if applicable.
